Dental Bridges

Dental bridges offer an effective solution for replacing missing teeth, restoring both aesthetics and functionality to your smile. We expertly design bridges to seamlessly blend with your natural teeth, ensuring a comfortable fit and a rejuvenated appearance.

WHAT IS A DENTAL BRIDGE?

A bridge is a device a dentist inserts to fill a gap where a tooth is missing. A “conventional” bridge consists of a false tooth (or teeth), known as a pontic, which is affixed to a crown on a tooth next to the gap. A “Maryland” bridge, on the other hand, is where the pontic is fixed to the teeth on either side using wings, meaning that it is not necessary to fit a crown to the other teeth.

Is a Dental Bridge for Me?

Our team of experienced professionals understands that each patient’s needs are unique, and we’re here to guide you through the decision-making process. A dental bridge not only rejuvenates your confidence by enhancing your appearance, but it also aids in maintaining proper oral health and functionality. With state-of-the-art techniques and personalised care, we’ll assess your individual case and recommend the most suitable treatment plan, ensuring your journey to a complete, stunning smile is comfortable and successful.

WHAT ARE INLAYS, ONLAYS, AND OVERLAYS

Porcelain (tooth coloured) inlays and onlays are restorations placed usually on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth.

An inlay fits within the confines of the teeth. An onlay covers the entire chewing surface of the tooth. These can be made of plastic resin, gold or porcelain.

An overlay dental bridge is a specialised restoration that restores a missing tooth by fitting over adjacent teeth, creating a seamless blend of functionality and natural appearance.

The procedure involves removing decayed tooth structure or old fillings, preparing the tooth cavity, taking an impression of the cavity to fabricate a custom-fit inlay or onlay. Two visits are required to complete the treatment.

bridge QUESTIONS YOU MAY have

FAQ’s

A dental bridge is a dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth. It typically consists of an artificial tooth (or teeth) anchored by crowns on the adjacent natural teeth or implants, thus “bridging” the gap where teeth are absent.

The procedure generally requires two appointments. During the first visit, the adjacent teeth are prepared, and an impression is taken to create the bridge. The second visit, typically a few weeks later, involves fitting and cementing the permanent bridge into place.

Yes, there are several types of dental bridges, including traditional bridges, cantilever bridges, and Maryland-bonded bridges. The best type for you depends on the location of the missing tooth and other individual factors.

Dental bridges require regular brushing and flossing, just like natural teeth. Special floss or interdental brushes might be recommended to clean under and around the bridge. Regular dental check-ups are crucial to ensure the bridge and surrounding teeth remain healthy.

With proper care, dental bridges can last 10 to 15 years or longer. The lifespan of a bridge depends on factors like the material used, oral hygiene practices, and regular dental visits for professional cleanings and check-ups.

£85 for a check-up which lasts 3 minutes seems rather excessive. No Xrays, despite being told when booking that the check-up included Xrays. I understand that this was after about 6 months since my last check-up (when Xrays were taken), but then, it should be reflected in the price. Disappointed by the extremely rushed approach.

After reluctantly having to acknowledge my superbly made denture of 20 years old was knackered I reluctantly and with some trepidation visited the Dental Practice-was treated with empathy and warmth and after 2 visits was fitted with a brand new denture that took no time to wear in & which fits and feels like my own teeth again - With a thrown in offer of after care! what more do you want-They did exactly what it said on the tin! COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! Off To Have A Chomping Evening On My Favourite Toffees Again!
